Overview

The Senior Unit Leader is responsible for the supervision of the Unit Leaders and their campers within a specific unit. The Senior Unit Leader works closely with the Parent Liaison, Mental Health Professional, and Nurse to assist campers with providing a positive camp experience.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the general safety and direct supervision of staff and campers.
  • Attend daily leadership meetings.
  • Support staff to implement behavior plans and supports as needed.
  • Check in with staff and provide constructive feedback.
  • Oversee daily inspection.
  • Oversee implementation and collection of Monk Mood Meters.
  • Oversee camper birthdays procedures.
  • Ensure adequate supplies and resources are available in each village.
  • Submit written performance evaluations twice a summer.
  • Communicate with parents as needed.
  • Assist with Trading Post.
  • Assist with tractor rides.
  • Assist with evening programs and special events.
  • Supervise and participate in all assigned aspects of the campers’ day which includes but is not limited to; camper check-in and check-out; attendance; mealtimes; activities; and before/after-hours duties as assigned.
  • Attend and participate in Administration Staff Training and All Staff Training.

Qualifications

  • Must be 20 years of age or older.
  • Ability to supervise and lead a group of campers.
  • Ability to manage 5-8 staff members.
  • Possess leadership skills that can assist in encouraging and motivating campers.
  • Be able to work independently and not need to be micromanaged.
  • Ability to teach songs, crafts, games, stories, sports, and related skills is preferred.
  • Must show enthusiasm, dedication, responsibility and maturity and have the ability to interact and communicate clearly with campers, parents and staff.

Posted Salary Range

USD $350.00 - USD $700.00 /Wk.
